The Chamber of Commerce Good Old Boys have also been called the Medford Mafia. Most of the good old boys don’t even live in Medford. They have three main objectives:
- They want Medford taxpayers to spend hundreds of million of taxpayer dollars on subsidizing their privately-owned real estate real estate development projects.
- They want the Medford City Council to give them no-bid contracts on large City projects so that they don’t have to bid on the price of contracts, and they can over-charge taxpayers, and they get guaranteed jobs.
- They want Medford taxpayers to pay for tourist attractions for them like Rogue X and the Lithia Motors and Driveway Fields (which are money-losers) so that they can build hotels surrounding the tourist attractions. The hotels are the real money-makers.
Brad Bennington is the President, and the chief lobbyist for the Builders’ Association. Bennington does not live in Medford, yet he has stacked the current City Council with his puppets and lackeys, and many current mayoral and city council candidates are also his puppets and lackeys. He and his puppets and lackeys aren’t lobbying for you. They represent special interest groups, and not you. Bennington wants Medford taxpayers to subsidize his Builders’ Association’s construction projects. Brad Bennington is a real danger to Medford taxpayers. Public records report that Brad Bennington has an extensive criminal record, including four DUI’s convictions (driving while intoxicated), two bankruptcies, an illegal gun possession conviction, and dozens and dozens of driving convictions. He’s a public train wreck. Sadly, Brad Bennington also serves as the head of the Jackson County Planning Commission, and he gets to make public policy, which is a farce. Further, former State Senate candidate Kevin Christman testified to Oregon State investigators that both Brad Bennington and former State Senator Alan DeBoer tried to bribe to him drop-out of his State Senate race against Randy Sparacino, whom they supported. That’s a felony. Per the State investigator’s letter, both DeBoer and Bennington offered State Senate candidate Kevin Christman financial incentives if he’d drop-out his race against their puppet candidate Sparacino. This is hard evidence that the good old boys bribe politicians. See attachment #2
Brad Bennington and Mahar Construction previously contributed $1,500 to one of my political opponents, and they lied about the source of the funding to Orestar, and they tried to covered it up, which is a felony. The good old boys lie, cheat, and steal to win. See attachment #3
Pacific Retirement Services (PRS) is one of the biggest predators, and one of the biggest dangers in Medford. They have a long history of trying to make Medford taxpayers, and their own residents, pay for their private development costs. PRS was previously sued by their own residents because PRS attempted to over-charge (and rip-off) their residents by making them pay for costs that were not theirs. Read the article.
Pacific Retirement Services scammed a previous corrupt Medford City Council to pay for $15 million of their downtown office headquarters, while they only paid for $7 million of their own building. That’s right! Medford taxpayers paid for 2/3 of the total $22 million cost of Pacific Retirement Service’s downtown headquarters building, and Medford taxpayers got screwed.
Today, there is a overwhelming push in the media by Pacific Retirement Services to have the Medford taxpayers pay $323 million for a road system and bridge intended to benefit Pacific Retirement Services, and their planned 3,000 house development surrounding Centennial Golf Course. A story is published almost weekly by the media promoting this project. They want Medford taxpayers to pay for their road development costs, and they are not even located in Medford. We have better uses for Medford taxpayer dollars. I oppose this deal. My opponent Michael Zarosinski is owned by Pacific Retirement Services, and he’ll make Medford taxpayers pay for this $323 million development. He’s been bought.
The good old boys are a danger to Medford and Jackson County. They steal from the poor, and they give to the rich. They run the government and the media behind the scenes to benefit them, and not you.
If someone were to sexually assault a woman they didn’t know, and then they beat the snot out of that woman’s husband without provocation, then they’d justifiably be sent to prison, because those are felonies. When a Medford good old boy does those same actions, then they only get 30-days of home detention in their mansion. What a sweet deal! We have double-standards in the Jackson County legal system. If someone were to file a fraudulent tax return, and forge their ex-spouse’s signature on that tax return, and then steal more than $10,000 from their ex-spouse, then they’d be sent to prison, because those are felonies. When a Medford good old boy does those same actions, then he only gets seven months of probation, because the good old boys own the district attorney, and the county commissioners, and the county administrator, and the Medford Mayor and City Council.
